Heating and Cooling contractors, are they all the same?

NO, we are not all the same. Even though we all work on the same furnaces and air conditioners. Different companies provide a different level of service. So when comparing the heating and cooling companies remember we are not all the same, there's a few of us that are high service and others that just do the minimum. What type of service do you want a company to provide for you? pair your furnace or air conditioner you really should do a little bit of research first. Here are some basic questions:

1. Are they licensed?

2. Are they insured? Liability and Workmans Comp.?

3. Do they have lettering on their trucks?

4. Are they sending experienced and trained technicians to your home?

5. Do they have a website?

6. What kind of reviews do they have?

Believe it or not, this is just the beginning of choosing an HVAC contractor. If you are looking to fix or replace your furnace or air conditioner those are the basic questions to look in to. What type of company do you want in your home? Just a basic company or an HVAC service company? A perfect example of this is all equipment comes with a 10 year part warranty one registered. Who is responsible for registering it? So the company you choose should perform the following services for its clients.

1. Register all equipment with the manufacturer to get the 10 year part warranty(on equipment.)

2. Pull all necessary city permits, if needed

3. Give a warranty on repairs.

4. Explain why the equipment broke down, not just replace parts.

5. What type of Guarantees do you get?

6. Do they give you a labor warranty on replacements?

7. Do they offer Energy Savings Plans or Maintenance Agreements?

8. Are they doing safety inspections when servicing your equipment?

9. Are there any rebates from utility companies?

10. Who is responsible for sending in the utility rebates?

These are some examples of a Service company, not just an HVAC company. So when comparing the heating and cooling companies remember we are not all the same, there's a few of us that are high service and others that just do the minimum. What type of service do you want a company to provide for you?
